Dr. Katayune Kaeni
Certified Specialist in Perinatal Mental Health and Perinatal Mood & Anxiety DisordersI’m a perinatal psychologist in California where I provide perinatal mental health and perinatal mood & anxiety disorder counseling to people who are trying to be pregnant, are pregnant, had a loss of pregnancy or dealing with a difficult birth or postpartum adjustment.
I’m Certified in Perinatal Mental Health by Postpartum Support International (PSI).
If you’re a hopeful, expecting or new parent, you’ve found out by now that this road to having a child is quite a journey. Sometimes this road can lead to depression, anxiety, stress or confusion about why you feel the way that you do. I often hear, “No one told me about this” from the clients that I support. My hope is to help you find ways out of suffering and into wellness. Therapy should not be a mysterious process. My style of working with you is to be real and keep therapy down to earth. In our sessions, the goal is to use compassion, insight, empathy and even a bit of humor, along with my education and training to help you heal. I believe that you have the ability to get better. Sometimes we just need the support of therapy to get there.
We work together so you can feel how you want to feel. I’ve witnessed and experienced the power of psychotherapy’s healing process; it’s a beautiful and sometimes challenging path. But, so worth it.
If you are trying to conceive, pregnant, had a loss of pregnancy, experienced a difficult birth or have had a hard postpartum, you’re in the right place. I’m here to help.
Certified Specialist in Perinatal Mental Health and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
I work with moms and families to heal from the difficulties of depression, anxiety and other mood changes that can happen during conception, pregnancy, miscarriage, loss of a baby, birth and postpartum. While I am highly trained in this subject, I also went through my own challenges in postpartum, so I get it too.
Working with people is in my bones. I knew from a young age that being a psychologist was my path. That passion has not faded, it’s only grown stronger. Especially when I see the transformation and healing happen right in front of me. It’s pretty cool.
So, am I a good fit for you? You’re welcome to give me a call, we can chat for a bit to see if you’d like to work with me.
